New yarn

Before I left for the Fiber show, I had ordered yarn. I know. Silly but I had to have it. I missed a certain yarn the last time at Woolgirl so I just had to get it when I saw it there again. Isn’t this packaging cool?

Boogie Baby was all interested in it. She watched as I undid each package and laid out the yarn. The second they were all there, the thief in her came out.
Anyone that has spent some downtime with the lady knows how nuts she is for yarn and fiber. She’s very interested in what you have for yarns and fibers and she has to touch all of it. So when there was new stuff, she took off with it. I got it back when she took a nap so I could take a picture of the yarn that made me place the order:
Kitty’s Eyes by Joni of Union Center Knits. I loved this colorway in the online photo but once I got it, I could really see the little bit of peachy color (kitty nose!) and I love it more. I want to cast on but I have more commissions to do.. I’m trying to be good because the deadline on these is really short… I will be good and NOT cast on kitty socks….. I will be good….. I willlllllll…..I can do it.

I couldn’t live with just that little bit of yarn. I had to have more. More Union Center that is.unioncenter_yarnagain

You don’t need to remind me that I make yarns for a living. I just couldn’t help myself. You know, that feeling that you cannot possibly control your fingers. Your fingers start slamming away at the keyboard and 3-4 days later you mystically have yarn on your doorstep. It’s like I go into a trance. Pretty pretty and I have to have it.

I also have more yarn that I didn’t buy. This is yarn for one of those commission projects. I was so thrilled when I opened the box yesterday. It’s actually a good color!!!! For once they didn’t send me brown or blue! This is cause for great excitement.
That’s right, it’s diaper green, I love it! Let’s hope this makes it speedy knitting.

That just cracks me up that someone who has such beautiful yarns has to buy other yarn because they are *pretty*. I completely understand… you must be immune to some of your yarn pretty now and need new yarn pretty. …I do like the packaging too though!

I find the more knitting projects I am doing for others (even if it is just my kids) then the more I want to order/buy yarn. I have to keep to two projects or nothing gets finished. Right now I have a pair of socks for the older and a pair of longies for the younger. I have been on a buying spree lately, need to finish something so I can knit for myself.

My littlest one doesn’t care much about skeins of yarn, but she is totally hugging the sweater I finished for her this morning from your chunky big ball yarn (pic on the blog). Thanks for helping me make her smile big!

Just because you make yarn doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate the colors and creativity of someone else. Love the colors and the packaging.

My son loves my yarn too. He is completely facinated with my spinning wheel. He even requests me to get it out and spin. Oh twist my arm ;).

  15. Oh, wow!! That is some super pretty yarn…Baby Boogie has rather good taste, I think.
